About this tour

While staying in Armenia, you absolutely must seize the chance to visit one of the country’s most breathtaking natural landmarks—Lake Sevan. Just an hour’s drive from Yerevan, Lake Sevan sits at an impressive 1,900 meters above sea level, surrounded by a stunning chain of mountains. Your journey begins at Hayravank Monastery, perched on a high hill overlooking the serene waters of Sevan, offering both spiritual and scenic beauty.

Tour Highlights:

  • Hayravank Monastery: Begin your tour with a visit to Hayravank Monastery, a peaceful sanctuary nestled on a hilltop by Lake Sevan. The monastery offers a blend of spiritual serenity and panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, making it a perfect introduction to the natural beauty of Armenia.
  • Khachkars of Noratus: Continue along the shores of Lake Sevan to the village of Noratus, home to the largest collection of Armenian Khachkars—intricately carved stone crosses that serve as a guide to salvation. According to legend, Hayk, the ancestor of all Armenians, instructed his people to adorn every stone in Armenia, resulting in nearly 900 Khachkars at Noratus, each telling its own story from different eras.
  • Vardenyants Pass: As you journey through the Vardenyants Pass, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of Armenia’s rugged landscape. This mountain pass, connecting the regions of Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor, offers a picturesque drive through some of the country’s most striking natural scenery.
  • Jermuk Waterfall & Mineral Water Gallery: Your next stop is the town of Jermuk, nestled within forests and mountains on a plateau at 2,080 meters above sea level, divided by the Arpa River Gorge. Jermuk is famous for its curative mineral waters, which have been used for centuries to treat various ailments. Visit the Mineral Water Gallery to taste these healing waters and learn about their health benefits. Don’t miss the stunning Jermuk Waterfall, also known as “Mermaid Hair,” where water cascades 72 meters down into the Arpa River, creating a mesmerizing sight.
  • Wine Tasting: Conclude your tour with a wine-tasting session, where you can savor the rich flavors of Armenian wine, renowned for its deep history and exquisite taste. This is the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring Armenia’s natural and cultural treasures.

This tour offers a comprehensive experience of Armenia’s stunning landscapes, ancient history, and cultural richness. From the tranquil shores of Lake Sevan to the healing waters of Jermuk and the timeless beauty of Noratus Khachkars, this journey will leave you with unforgettable memories of Armenia’s unique charm. Book your tour today and immerse yourself in the wonders of this beautiful country.
